Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Her songs are classified by the label as folk and alternative rock. But, they incorporate elements of hip-hop, jazz and punk. Ani Difranco has been widely acknowledged as a pioneer for feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own independent record label. DiFranco born on 23 September 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who came across Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian origin and her mother came born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors". This song appeared on her fifth studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. On the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco issued an apology in 2013, following the revelation that it became clear that she'd planned a three-day seminar in a Louisiana plantation. The event was later cancelled however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days later. Although she is known by the name of Little Folksinger, her songs have embraced a variety of genres and collaborators ranging from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. Her home is New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is with Kristen Ford. She began writing songs when she was 14 years old. They were performed in bars and coffeehouses during her teens. DiFranco attended Buffalo State College after graduating aged 16 from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
