Niykee is still writing songs despite having been swept up in the current turmoil. Niykee was selected for this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. She is now a magnet for aspiring producers, she regularly combs through beats sent her way and finds that many are able to spark song ideas. I can tell if a beat is good after the first five seconds, and I'll be able to get a tune in my mind and begin creating right away, she adds. I get the words whenever I'm outside on the porch, playing my guitar. It usually takes less than thirty minutes. Niykee's pain in the past provides an endless source of motivation. She says that even when she's not composing about the things which are actually happening every ache through her childhood and loss of her sister find its way into the music. The music I write is inspired by my experiences and I see the bigger picture beneath all of it. This is one of the elements that is crucial for me.
