AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She is also captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of professional soccer for women. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for the US women's national soccer team together with Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in the team's winning the league title. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
